{"data":{"id":"us/40-cfr-68.75","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"40 CFR 68.75","heading":"Management of change.","body":"(a) The owner or operator shall establish and implement written procedures to manage changes (except for “replacements in kind”) to process chemicals, technology, equipment, and procedures; and, changes to stationary sources that affect a covered process.\n(b) The procedures shall assure that the following considerations are addressed prior to any change:\n(1) The technical basis for the proposed change;\n(2) Impact of change on safety and health;\n(3) Modifications to operating procedures;\n(4) Necessary time period for the change; and,\n(5) Authorization requirements for the proposed change.\n(c) Employees involved in operating a process and maintenance and contract employees whose job tasks will be affected by a change in the process shall be informed of, and trained in, the change prior to start-up of the process or affected part of the process.\n(d) If a change covered by this paragraph results in a change in the process safety information required by § 68.65 of this part, such information shall be updated accordingly.\n(e) If a change covered by this paragraph results in a change in the operating procedures or practices required by § 68.69, such procedures or practices shall be updated accordingly.","path":["Title 40—Protection of Environment","CHAPTER I—ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY","SUBCHAPTER C—AIR PROGRAMS","PART 68—CHEMICAL ACCIDENT PREVENTION PROVISIONS","Subpart D—Program 3 Prevention Program"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-40.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:26:04Z","sha256":"89567f26a0a71f4a7c610b8844cb37e709fb0e9e07186e21fbccc050937009ed","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/40-cfr-68.73","next":"us/40-cfr-68.77"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
