{"data":{"id":"us/42-cfr-485.516","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"42 CFR 485.516","heading":"Condition of participation: Emergency services.","body":"The REH must provide the emergency care necessary to meet the needs of its patients in accordance with acceptable standards of practice.\n(a) Standard: Organization and direction. The emergency services of the REH must be—\n(1) Organized under the direction of a qualified member of the medical staff; and\n(2) Integrated with other departments of the REH.\n(b) Standard: Personnel. There must be adequate medical and nursing personnel qualified in emergency care to meet the written emergency procedures and needs anticipated by the facility.\n(c) Standard: Compliance with CAH requirements.
