{"data":{"id":"us/43-cfr-3602.42","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"43 CFR 3602.42","heading":"How does BLM publicize competitive mineral materials sales?","body":"(a) When offering mineral materials for sale by competitive bidding, BLM:\n(1) Will advertise the sale by publishing a sale notice in a newspaper of general circulation in the area where the material is located, on the same day once a week for 2 consecutive weeks; and\n(2) Will post a sale notice in a conspicuous place in the office where you will submit bids.\n(b) In the sale notice, BLM will state:\n(1) By legal description, the location of the tract or tracts on which we are offering the materials;\n(2) The kind of materials we are offering;\n(3) The estimated quantities of materials we are offering;\n(4) The unit of measurement;\n(5) The appraised prices;\n(6) The time and place for receiving and opening of bids;\n(7) The minimum deposit we require;\n(8) If the sale is by request, the total cost recovery fee paid to BLM by the applicant up to 21 days before the sale;\n(9) The site access that will be available to the purchaser;\n(10) The method of bidding;\n(11) If applicable, that the purchaser must file mining or reclamation plans;\n(12) The bonding requirement;\n(13) The location for inspection of contract terms and proposed stipulations;\n(14) The address and telephone number of the office where you may obtain additional information;\n(15) Whether BLM will renew the contract; and\n(16) Any additional information that BLM deems necessary.\n(c) BLM may, in its discretion, extend the period of time for advertising;\n(d) BLM will not hold sales sooner than 1 week after the last advertisement.","path":["Title 43—Public Lands: Interior","Subtitle B—Regulations Relating to Public Lands","CHAPTER II—BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT, DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR","SUBCHAPTER C—MINERALS MANAGEMENT (3000)","PART 3600—MINERAL MATERIALS DISPOSAL","Subpart 3602—Mineral Materials Sales"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-43.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:26:15Z","sha256":"b4e7a7be3ed8a0a8db552a6812f1ca92751da2b3981c860d23cfbc36c36a6a52","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/43-cfr-3602.41","next":"us/43-cfr-3602.43"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
