{"data":{"id":"us/43-cfr-422.12","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"43 CFR 422.12","heading":"Required standards of conduct.","body":"All law enforcement officers authorized to exercise Reclamation authority must adhere to the following standards of conduct:\n(a) Be punctual in reporting for duty at the time and place designated by superior officers;\n(b) Be mindful at all times and under all circumstances of their responsibility to be courteous, considerate, patient and not use harsh, violent, profane, or insolent language;\n(c) Make required reports of appropriate incidents coming to their attention;\n(d) When in uniform and requested to do so, provide their name and identification/badge number orally or in writing;\n(e) Immediately report any personal injury or any loss, damage, or theft of Federal government property as required by § 422.13;\n(f) Not be found guilty in any court of competent jurisdiction of an offense that has a tendency to bring discredit upon the Department or Reclamation;\n(g) Not engage in any conduct that is prejudicial to the reputation and good order of the Department or Reclamation; and\n(h) Obey all regulations or orders relating to the performance of the unit's duties under the Reclamation contract or cooperative agreement.","path":["Title 43—Public Lands: Interior","Subtitle B—Regulations Relating to Public Lands","CHAPTER I—BUREAU OF RECLAMATION, DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR","PART 422—LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY AT BUREAU OF RECLAMATION PROJECTS"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-43.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:26:15Z","sha256":"0c4003f29b4b127480cba4cce537b1edd299a633f112171e4b704aacc083264b","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/43-cfr-422.11","next":"us/43-cfr-422.13"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
