{"data":{"id":"us/43-cfr-422.4","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"43 CFR 422.4","heading":"Responsibilities of the Commissioner of Reclamation.","body":"(a) The Secretary of the Interior has designated the Commissioner of Reclamation to implement law enforcement authority at Reclamation facilities. The Commissioner is responsible for:\n(1) Implementing the provisions of Public Law 107-69;\n(2) Ensuring consistency with applicable Departmental and Reclamation requirements for law enforcement officers;\n(3) Carrying out the specific responsibilities listed in paragraph (b) of this section; and\n(4) Developing any additional policies necessary for the successful accomplishment of Reclamation's law enforcement responsibilities.\n(b) The Commissioner's specific responsibilities include the following:\n(1) Designating Reclamation's Law Enforcement Administrator (LEA), with authority to discharge the responsibilities assigned by these regulations;\n(2) Overseeing the LEA's ability to ensure that all law enforcement officers under contract or cooperative agreement for law enforcement services to Reclamation are properly trained and receive necessary authorizations; and\n(3) Overseeing the LEA's development of policy, procedures, and standards for directing the law enforcement units, and the installation of management controls for proper implementation of the law enforcement program.","path":["Title 43—Public Lands: Interior","Subtitle B—Regulations Relating to Public Lands","CHAPTER I—BUREAU OF RECLAMATION, DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR","PART 422—LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY AT BUREAU OF RECLAMATION PROJECTS"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-43.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:26:15Z","sha256":"61eaadc6b64f75f86d28ab0979d3f60d0092a3a2732d2037f5f235a7da920b35","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/43-cfr-422.3","next":"us/43-cfr-422.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
