{"data":{"id":"us/45-cfr-1233.7","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"45 CFR 1233.7","heading":"How does the Director communicate with state and local officials concerning the Agency's programs?","body":"(a) The Director provides opportunities for consultation by elected officials of those state and local governments that would provide the nonfederal funds for, or that would be directly affected by, proposed federal financial assistance from the Agency. For those programs covered by a state process under § 1233.6, the Director, to the extent permitted by law:\n(1) Uses the official state process to determine views of state and local elected officials; and,\n(2) Communicates with state and local elected officials, through the official state process, as early in a program planning cycle as is reasonably feasible to explain specific plans and actions.\n(b) The Director provides notice to directly affected state, areawide, regional, and local entities in a state of proposed federal financial assistance if:\n(1) The state has not adopted a process under the Order; or\n(2) The assistance involves a program not selected for the state process.\nThis notice may be made by publication in the Federal Register, or other appropriate means, which the Agency in its discretion deems appropriate.","path":["Title 45—Public Welfare","Subtitle B—Regulations Relating to Public Welfare","CHAPTER XII—CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE","PART 1233—INTERGOVERNMENTAL REVIEW OF ACTION PROGRAMS"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-45.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:26:21Z","sha256":"a3c5d18307743802a03b8bb1d4e1c9537770261c047a630c720ae73ac9cf0306","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/45-cfr-1233.6","next":"us/45-cfr-1233.8"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
