(1) Except as provided under paragraph (b) of this section, a provider of a COVID-19 diagnostic test must make public the information described in paragraph (c) of this section electronically via the internet.\n(2) The information described in paragraph (c) of this section, or a link to such information, must appear in a conspicuous location on a searchable homepage of the provider's website.\n(3) The information described in paragraph (c) of this section must be displayed in a manner that is easily accessible, without barriers, and ensures that the information is accessible:\n(i) Free of charge;\n(ii) Without having to establish a user account or password; and\n(iii) Without having to submit personal identifiable information (PII).\n(4) The provider must include all of the following terms on its homepage:\n(i) The provider's name;\n(ii) The term “price”;\n(iii) The term “cost”;\n(iv) The term “test”;\n(v) The term “COVID”; and\n(vi) The term “coronavirus”.\n(b) Exception. A provider of a COVID-19 diagnostic test that does not have its own website must make public the information described in paragraph (c) of this section:\n(1) In writing, within two business days upon request; and\n(2) On a sign posted prominently at the location where the provider offers a COVID-19 diagnostic test, if such location is accessible to the public.\n(c) Required information. For purposes of paragraphs (a) and (b) of this section, the provider must make public the following information:\n(1) A plain-language description of each COVID-19 diagnostic test that is offered by the provider;\n(2) The billing code used for each COVID-19 diagnostic test;\n(3) The provider's cash price for each such COVID-19 diagnostic test; and\n(4) Any additional information as may be necessary for the public to have certainty of the cash price that applies to each COVID-19 diagnostic test.","path":["Title 45—Public Welfare","SUBTITLE A—Department of Health and Human Services","SUBCHAPTER E—PRICE TRANSPARENCY","PART 182—PRICE TRANSPARENCY FOR COVID-19 DIAGNOSTIC TESTS","Subpart B—Public Disclosure Requirements"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-45.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:26:21Z","sha256":"d951f8fcf5277317c8ea603f0d81e41f5812ece6644a88145e31a626ca17f7b1","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/45-cfr-182.30","next":"us/45-cfr-182.50"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
