{"data":{"id":"us/45-cfr-2556.600","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"45 CFR 2556.600","heading":"How is a position for a leader established in a project, or in multiple projects within a contiguous geographic region?","body":"(a) At its discretion, AmeriCorps may approve the establishment of a leader position based on the following factors:\n(1) The need for a leader in a project of a substantial size and with multiple VISTAs assigned to serve at that project, or the need for leader for multiple projects located within a contiguous geographic region.\n(2) The need for a leader to assist with the communication of VISTA policies and administrative procedures to VISTAs within a project, or throughout the multiple projects within a contiguous geographic region, as applicable.\n(3) The need for a leader to assist with the professional development of VISTAs within a project, or throughout the multiple projects within a contiguous geographic region, as applicable.\n(4) The need for a leader to assist with the recruitment and preparation for the arrival of VISTAs within a project, or throughout the multiple projects within a contiguous geographic region, as applicable.\n(5) The capacity of the VISTA supervisor to support and guide the leader.\n(b) A sponsor may request, in its project application, that AmeriCorps establish a leader position in its project.","path":["Title 45—Public Welfare","Subtitle B—Regulations Relating to Public Welfare","CHAPTER XXV—CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE","PART 2556—VOLUNTEERS IN SERVICE TO AMERICA","Subpart G—VISTA Leaders"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-45.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:26:21Z","sha256":"a341a9479a133d08aac8c747eca08d3ef923a8fd279c7566873db38d10e06267","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/45-cfr-2556.505","next":"us/45-cfr-2556.605"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
