{"data":{"id":"us/45-cfr-309.121","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"45 CFR 309.121","heading":"Employment and training services.","body":"(a) As elected by the Tribe or Tribal organization in § 309.65(b), provide employment and training services to eligible noncustodial parents. In addition to eligibility criteria that may be set by the Tribal IV-D agency, the noncustodial parent must: have an open IV-D case; have a child support order or be determined by the Tribal IV-D agency to be fully cooperating with the Tribal IV-D agency to establish a child support order; be unemployed or underemployed or at risk of not being able to comply with their support order. In addition, the Tribal IV-D agency must have adopted policies and procedures for determining that the noncustodial parent is not receiving the same employment and training services under federally-funded employment and training programs administered by the Tribe.\n(b) These IV-D agency employment and training services are limited to:\n(1) Job search assistance;\n(2) Job readiness training;\n(3) Job development and job placement services;\n(4) Skills assessments to facilitate job placement;\n(5) Job retention services;\n(6) Work supports, such as transportation assistance, uniforms, and tools; and\n(7) Occupational training and other skills training directly related to employment, which may also include activities to improve literacy and basic skills, such as programs to complete high school or a high school equivalency certificate, or English as a second language.\n(c) Federal financial participation may also be used to provide case management in connection with the allowable services under this section.","path":["Title 45—Public Welfare","Subtitle B—Regulations Relating to Public Welfare","CHAPTER III—OFFICE OF CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES, ADMINISTRATION OF FAMILIES AND SERVICES, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES","PART 309—TRIBAL CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT (IV-D) PROGRAM","Subpart C—Tribal IV-D Plan Requirements"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-45.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:26:21Z","sha256":"e967eca4d47ec4a39e51c5cba3f271e734b5ffbb36756eb3b830b0fdc37d8784","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/45-cfr-309.120","next":"us/45-cfr-309.125"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
