{"data":{"id":"us/46-cfr-139.150","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"46 CFR 139.150","heading":"Revocation of approval.","body":"(a) The Coast Guard may revoke the approval of a TPO if the organization has demonstrated a pattern or history of:\n(1) Failure to comply with this part;\n(2) Substantial deviations from the terms of the approval granted under this part; or\n(3) Failures, including ethical violations, conflicts of interest, or inadequate performance, that indicate to the Coast Guard that the TPO is no longer capable of carrying out its duties as a TPO.\n(b) If the Coast Guard seeks to revoke the approval of a TPO, it must:\n(1) Notify the TPO in writing of the intention to revoke the approval;\n(2) Provide the details of the TPO's demonstrated pattern or history of actions described in paragraph (a) of this section; and\n(3) Advise the TPO that it may appeal this decision to the Coast Guard in accordance with the provisions of 46 CFR subpart 1.03.","path":["Title 46—Shipping","CHAPTER I—COAST GUARD, DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY","SUBCHAPTER M—TOWING VESSELS","PART 139—THIRD-PARTY ORGANIZATIONS"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-46.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:26:22Z","sha256":"11a0e64821fd05b4cf38e58e2cc5120a5eef08c72a48a1c82799aa4d55debcf3","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/46-cfr-139.145","next":"us/46-cfr-139.155"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
