The pilot program this part implements is available for not more than three Amtrak long-distance routes.\n(b) Time limitations. An eligible petitioner awarded a contract to provide passenger rail service under the pilot program this part implements shall only provide such service for a period not to exceed four years from the date of commencement of service.
