{"data":{"id":"us/49-cfr-299.309","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"49 CFR 299.309","heading":"Classes of track: operating speed limits.","body":"(a) Except as provided in paragraph (b) of this section and as otherwise provided in this part, the following maximum allowable operating speeds apply—\nTable 1 to Paragraph (a)\nOver track that meets all of the requirements prescribed in this part for— The maximum allowable operating speed in km/h (mph)\nClass H0 track 20 (12)\nClass H1 track 30 (19)\nClass H2 track 70 (44)\nClass H3 track 120 (75)\nClass H4 track 170 (106)\nClass H5 track 230 (143)\nClass H6 track 285 (177)\nClass H7 track 330 (205)\n(b) Except as provided in paragraph (c) of this section, if a segment of track does not meet all of the requirements for its intended Class, it is to be reclassified to the next lower track Class for which it does meet all of the requirements of this part.
