{"data":{"id":"us/5-cfr-630.1102","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"5 CFR 630.1102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"In this subpart:\nAgency means—\n(1) An “Executive agency,” as defined in 5 U.S.C. 105; or\n(2) A Judicial branch entity.\nCommitted relationship has the meaning given that term in subpart I of this part.\nDisaster or emergency means a major disaster or emergency, as declared by the President, that results in severe adverse effects for a substantial number of employees (e.g., loss of life or property, serious injury, or mental illness as a result of a direct threat to life or health).\nDomestic partner has the meaning given that term in subpart I of this part.\nEmergency leave donor means a current employee whose voluntary written request for transfer of annual leave to an emergency leave transfer program is approved by his or her employing agency.\nEmergency leave recipient means a current employee for whom the employing agency has approved an application to receive annual leave under an emergency leave transfer program.\nEmergency leave transfer program means a program established by OPM that permits Federal employees to transfer their unused annual leave to other Federal employees adversely affected by a disaster or emergency, as declared by the President.\nEmployee means—\n(1) An employee as defined in 5 U.S.C. 6331(1); or\n(2) An employee of a Judicial branch entity.\nFamily member has the meaning given that term in § 630.902.\nLeave year has the meaning given that term in § 630.201.\nParent has the meaning given that term in subpart I of this part.\nSon or daughter has the meaning given that term in subpart I of this part.\nTransferred annual leave means donated annual leave credited to an approved emergency leave recipient's annual leave account.","path":["Title 5—Administrative Personnel","CHAPTER I—OFFICE OF PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT","SUBCHAPTER B—CIVIL SERVICE REGULATIONS","PART 630—ABSENCE AND LEAVE","Subpart K—Emergency Leave Transfer Program"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-5.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:23:53Z","sha256":"253c65fcb5e278c4e98ee17cca074e2cc600f998d900c708f37bfe80b6b32bf5","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/5-cfr-630.1101","next":"us/5-cfr-630.1103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
