{"data":{"id":"us/5-cfr-831.643","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"5 CFR 831.643","heading":"Time for filing applications for death benefits.","body":"(a) A survivor of a deceased employee, Member, or retiree, may file an application for annuity, personally or through a representative, at any time within 30 years after the death of the employee, Member, or retiree.\n(b) A former spouse claiming eligibility for an annuity based on § 831.683 may file an application at any time between November 8, 1984 and May 7, 1989.
