Payment of annuity is suspended when—\n(1) The annuitant is appointed as a justice or judge of the United States, as defined by section 451 of title 28, United States Code; or\n(2) The annuitant receives an interim appointment under § 772.102 of this chapter.\n(b) CSRS annuitants only.
