{"data":{"id":"us/7-cfr-1146.1","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"7 CFR 1146.1","heading":"Definitions.","body":"AMS means the Agricultural Marketing Service of the United States Department of Agriculture.\nEligible dairy organization means a dairy farmer, either individually or as part of a cooperative, or a dairy processor that:\n(1) Accounts to a Federal Milk Marketing Order; and\n(2) Incurs a qualified expense described in § 1146.1.\nEligible distributor means a public or private non-profit organization that distributes donated eligible milk.\nEligible milk means Class I fluid milk products produced and processed in the United States that meet the specifications referenced in § 1146.3.\nEligible partnership means a partnership between an eligible dairy organization and an eligible distributor.\nFiscal year means the twelve-month period beginning October 1 of any year and ending September 30 of the following year.\nParticipating partnership means an eligible partnership for which AMS has approved a Milk Donation and Distribution Plan (Plan) for eligible milk under § 1146.104.\nProgram means the Milk Donation Reimbursement Program established in this part.\nQualified expense means the cost incurred to purchase fresh fluid milk products.\nSecretary means the Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture or a representative authorized to act in the Secretary's stead.","path":["Title 7—Agriculture","Subtitle B—Regulations of the Department of Agriculture","CHAPTER X—AGRICULTURAL MARKETING SERVICE (MARKETING AGREEMENTS AND ORDERS; MILK), DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE","PART 1146—MILK DONATION REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM","Subpart A—General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-08-25/title-7.xml","current_through":"2026-08-25","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:24:01Z","sha256":"c99fb3e5503a6ad66e0e44f2a105f4091570941bc5590bbaa4759b0bc4ab56ea","source_id":"us-cfr","stale":true,"prev":"us/7-cfr-1145.3","next":"us/7-cfr-1146.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
