{"data":{"id":"us/7-cfr-51.2835","jurisdiction":"us","citation":"7 CFR 51.2835","heading":"U.S. No. 2.","body":"U.S. No. 2 consists of onions which meet the following requirements:\n(a) Basic requirements:\n(1) One type, except when designated as a specialty or mixed pack;\n(2) Mature; and,\n(3) Not soft or spongy.\n(b) Free from:\n(1) Decay;\n(2) Wet sunscald; and,\n(3) Scallions.\n(c) Free from serious damage caused by:\n(1) Watery scales;\n(2) Dirt or Staining;\n(3) Foreign Matter;\n(4) Seedstems;\n(5) Sprouts;\n(6) Mechanical;\n(7) Dry sunken areas;\n(8) Disease;\n(9) Freezing;\n(10) Insects; and,\n(11) Other means.\n(d) For tolerances see § 51.2837.\n(e) Size. Unless otherwise specified, the diameter shall not be less than 1 1/2 inches.
