GroundRules

The law in force at any US address: every level, one schema, with as-of dates.

Search the text of enacted law across the codes we host. Every result is the law's own words with its citation, its currency date or vintage label, and a link to the official source. We never summarize, interpret, or rank law by importance; reading and judging the text is yours (or your agent's).

Verbatim records of enacted law, with as-of dates. Not legal advice. Always check the official source, linked on every record. Laws change and coverage has gaps: if a search finds nothing, that never means no law applies.

Search matches the words you type against the text of the law. Add a two-letter state to scope to that state plus federal law, or a full address to scope to everything that governs that address. Results rank by how well the text matches, never by importance.
