Ala. Code § 45-40-230: Salary; Expense Allowance; Cost-of-Living Adjustments.

(a) The Sheriff of Lawrence County shall receive the salary the sheriff is receiving on December 28, 2001.

(b) Beginning October 1, 2025, the sheriff shall receive an expense allowance to increase the sheriff’s total compensation to ninety-five thousand dollars ($95,000) per annum payable from the county general fund in equal installments in the same manner as other county employees are paid.

(c) Beginning January 19, 2026, the sheriff’s total base salary shall be ninety-five thousand dollars ($95,000) per annum payable from the county general fund in equal installments in the same manner as other county employees are paid. This salary shall be in lieu of the salary provided in subsection (a), the expense allowance provided in subsection (b), and any other salary, expense allowance, or fees paid to the sheriff, which shall be void.

(d) Thereafter, the sheriff shall continue to receive any cost-of-living increases granted to county employees which shall be paid in the same manner as provided in Sections 11-2A-1 through 11-2A-8.
