Ala. Code § 45-49-30.04: Executive Director; Staff and Consultants.

The commission, subject to county or other funds that would accrue to the commission, may employ an executive director, and also subject to county or other funds that would accrue to the commission, may hire additional staff and consultants to assist in the discharge of members’ responsibilities, as determined by the commission. The executive director shall not be a member of the commission, and shall be of Indian extraction.
