Ala. Code § 45-51A-32.42: Correction of Errors.

Should any change or error in the records of the fund result in any member or beneficiary receiving from the fund more or less than he or she would have been entitled to receive had such change or error not been made, the board shall have the power to correct such error, and so far as practicable, to adjust the payments in such manner that benefits of equivalent value to the benefit to which such member or beneficiary was justly entitled shall be paid to such member or beneficiary.
