Ala. Code § 45-52-234.24: Waiver of Collection and Payment.

In any case in which the court having jurisdiction of the case determines that the collection and payment of the sums provided for in Section 45-52-234.23 will impose a definite and significant financial hardship on the dependents of the defendant involved, the court, in its discretion, may waive the collection and payment of the same or any portion thereof.
