Ala. Code § 45-58-233.08: Waiver of Collection and Payment of Supervision Fee.

In any case in which the court having jurisdiction of the case determines that collection and payment of the sums provided in Section 45–58–233.02, Section 45–58–233.04, or Section 45–58–233.06 imposes a definite and significant financial hardship on the dependents of the prisoner involved, the court, in its discretion, may waive the collection and payment of the supervision fee or any part of the fee, but in making that determination, the court shall consider that the purpose of this subpart is not only to promote the rehabilitation of offenders, but insofar as possible, to make the implementation of this subpart self-supporting.
