(a) In addition to the salary paid to the District Attorney of the Thirtieth Judicial Circuit by the state, there shall also be paid to the district attorney a supplemental salary in a sum equal to 50 percent of the supplement salary paid to the circuit judges by St. Clair County.
(b) The supplemental salary shall be paid out of the General Fund of St. Clair County in monthly installments at the same time and in the same manner that the salaries of other county employees are paid. The supplemental salary shall be in lieu of any other supplemental salary heretofore provided for by law to be paid by St. Clair County; however, it shall be in addition to any other salary, compensation, allowance, or expenses paid from the state as provided by law, and also in addition to any expense allowance paid from the counties composing the circuit pursuant to general law.
(c) The expense allowances provided in this section shall be payable retroactively to January 1, 1980.
