Ark. Code Ann. § 12-27-112: Sale of lands and facilities of the Department of Correction

(a) None of the lands under the control and jurisdiction of the State Penitentiary on March 1, 1968, shall be sold or otherwise disposed of by the Board of Corrections or the Department of Correction except upon specific authorization by the General Assembly. (b) (1) The authority granted state boards and commissions to sell land belonging to state institutions, as provided in §§ 22-6-601 and 22-6-602 , shall not be applicable to the penitentiary, the board, and the department. (2) It is the intent of this section that lands under the control and jurisdiction of the penitentiary on March 1, 1968, may be sold or otherwise disposed of only upon specific authorization therefor by laws enacted by the General Assembly subsequent to March 1, 1968.
