Ark. Code Ann. § 20-76-118: Veteran disability benefits - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

(a) As used in this section, "veteran disability benefits" means disability benefits provided to a veteran who: (1) Is a resident of this state; (2) Has been determined by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to be a disabled service-connected veteran; and (3) Receives disability benefits as a result of a combat injury. (b) If allowed under federal law, the Department of Human Services shall seek a waiver from the United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service to exclude veteran disability benefits as income for eligibility determinations for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. Added by Act 2023, No. 201,§ 1, eff. 8/1/2023.
