(a) The Insurance Commissioner may adopt reasonable rules for use by companies to record and report to the commissioner rates and other information determined by the commissioner to be necessary or appropriate for the administration of this chapter and for the effectuation of its purposes. (b) (1) The commissioner may designate an advisory organization to assist the commissioner in gathering, compiling, and reporting the information. (2) An insurer is not required to record or report its experience on a classification basis inconsistent with its own rating system. (3) The commissioner may request a review of fire protection standards previously approved if filed by an advisory organization. Amended by Act 2015, No. 961,§ 3, eff. 7/22/2015.
