(a) Before entering upon his or her respective duties, each board member shall take, subscribe, and file in the office of the Secretary of State an oath that he or she will: (1) Support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Arkansas; (2) Faithfully perform the duties of the office upon which he or she is about to enter; and (3) Not be or become directly or indirectly interested in any contract made by the board. (b) (1) Any violation of the oath shall be a Class A misdemeanor. (2) Any contract entered into in violation of the oath shall be void.
