Ark. Code Ann. § 6-21-501: Authority to operate

(a) Any school district or any board of directors thereof may: (1) Operate a program of public recreation and playgrounds; (2) Acquire, equip, and maintain land, buildings, or other recreational facilities; and (3) Expend funds for the operation of the program pursuant to the provisions of this subchapter. (b) However, the provisions of this subchapter shall not apply to § 17-22-201 et seq. Acts 1941, No. 291, § 1; A.S.A. 1947, § 19-3601.
