As used in this section and sections 10a-98a to 10a-98g, inclusive, (1) “board” means the Board of Regents for Higher Education; (2) “foundation” means the research foundation established in accordance with section 10a-98a; (3) “employee” means any member of the faculty or staff of the Connecticut State University System or the foundation, or any other employee thereof; and (4) “invention” means any invention or discovery and shall be divided into the following categories: (A) Any invention conceived by one employee solely, or by employees jointly; (B) any invention conceived by one or more employees jointly with one or more other persons; or (C) any invention conceived by one or more persons who are not employees.
