(a) The commissioner shall issue a license as a paramedic to any applicant who furnishes evidence satisfactory to the commissioner that the applicant has met the requirements of section 20-206mm. The commissioner shall develop and provide application forms. The license may be renewed annually pursuant to section 19a-88 for a fee of one hundred fifty-five dollars. No fee shall be required for the application for a license under this section.

(b) The commissioner shall issue a certification as an emergency medical technician, emergency medical services instructor, emergency medical responder or advanced emergency medical technician to any applicant who furnishes evidence satisfactory to the commissioner that the applicant has met the requirements of section 20-206mm.
