On or before July 1, 2005, each chronic and convalescent nursing home or rest home with nursing supervision licensed pursuant to chapter 368v shall submit a plan for employee fire safety training and education to the Departments of Public Health and Administrative Services and the Labor Department. Such plan shall, at a minimum, comply with standards adopted by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, including, but not limited to, standards listed in 29 CFR 1910.38, 1910.39 and 1910.157, as adopted pursuant to chapter 571, or 29 USC Section 651 et seq., as appropriate. The commissioners shall review each such plan and may make recommendations they deem necessary. Once approved or revised, such plan shall not be required to be resubmitted until further revised or there is a change of ownership of the nursing or rest home.
