(a)
For the purposes of this subchapter, the term:
(1)
"Applicant" means an organization petitioning the Director of the Department of Health to become a certified maternity center.
(2)
"Maternity center" means a facility or other place, other than a hospital or the mother's home, that provides antepartal, intrapartal, and postpartal care for both mother and newborn infant during and after a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy.
