D.C. Code § 3-641.01: Definitions.

(a)

For the purposes of this chapter, the term:

(1)

"Commission" means the Commission on Poverty established pursuant to § 3-641.02.

(2)

"Poverty" means, in reference to an individual, someone living with an annual household income of less than or equal to the income levels published in the most recent poverty guidelines issued by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

(3)

"Poverty-reduction plan" means a comprehensive strategic plan for the reduction of poverty in the District issued by the Commission pursuant to § 3-641.06.
