D.C. Code § 4-1501.05b: Private entities authorized to conduct background checks.

(a)

The Mayor may authorize a non-governmental entity that is a covered youth services provider to perform the background check functions and procedures described in §§4-1501.03(a), 4-1501.04, and 4-1501.05 for the covered youth services provider's applicants, employees, and volunteers.

(b)

A covered youth services provider authorized to perform criminal background checks pursuant to this section shall submit all records obtained pursuant to such authorization to the Mayor for uses consistent with this chapter.
