- Subchapter I. General Provisions
(a) The building inspector or other officer authorized by law to issue permits for new buildings or for repairs or additions to old buildings in any city or town in New Castle County shall report to the Office of Finance, once a permit is closed and a certificate of occupancy has issued, every permit processed by the inspector or other officer for the erection of a new building or the repair, alteration, or improvement of an old building.
(b) The permit information required under subsection (a) of this section must be updated at least monthly, in a manner prescribed by the Office, and must include all of the following:
(1) The estimated cost of the proposed new building or the proposed repair, alteration, or improvement of the old building.
(2) Whether a certificate of occupancy has been issued and if so, the date of issue.
(c) A city or town in New Castle County that fails to timely submit the information required under this section, must, within 10 days of the omission, submit a report to the Office of Finance, the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives, the Secretary of the Senate, and the Director and Librarian of the Division of Legislative Services detailing the reason why the information has not been submitted timely, what steps are being taken to address the problem, and when the information will be submitted.
