17 GCA § 28711: Same: Prioritization of Scholarships According to Teaching Needs.

(a) The Board shall prioritize the granting of Teacher Corps Scholarships according to the teaching needs (subject area) as identified by the Guam Department of Education and the Guam Community College.

(b) Notwithstanding those subject areas deemed to be a teaching need by the Board, a student whose declared major, minor, or certification track is in Chamorro studies shall be provided the equal opportunity to apply for any and all benefits provided in this Chapter. This shall apply to current and future students whose degree and certification track leads towards the teaching of the Chamorro language and culture in Guam’s public schools.
