17 GCA § 51109: Effective Date.

The Commission shall be established and become operational immediately. Incumbent peace officers shall have thirty-six (36) months from the date of the enactment of the rules and regulations required by § 51102(h), to be POST certified, provided that the Commission may grant extensions to protect the integrity of agency operations.
