[ § 334-123.5] Appointment of a guardian ad litem. The family court, upon receipt of a petition filed under this part, shall determine the existence of a guardian and if none, shall appoint a guardian ad litem to represent the best interests of the subject of the petition throughout the pendency of the proceedings.
