Haw. Rev. Stat. § 350E-3: Appropriate public authorities.

The "appropriate public authorities" as used in Article III of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children, with reference to this State, means the department of human services and the department shall receive and act with reference to notices required by Article III.
