Haw. Rev. Stat. § 412:8-103: Authority to serve as trustee.

Unless chartered as a trust company under this chapter or otherwise specifically authorized by the laws of this State, no person shall hold itself out to the general public as being available to serve as a trustee or trust company, whether or not for compensation. No person shall use the term "trust company" as part of its name unless chartered as a trust company pursuant to this chapter.
