Iowa Code § 321.219: Permitting unauthorized minor to drive.

1. A person shall not cause or knowingly permit the person’s child or protected person under the age of eighteen years to drive a motor vehicle upon any highway when the minor is not authorized under this chapter.

2. A person convicted of a violation of this section is guilty of a simple misdemeanor punishable as a scheduled violation under section 805.8A, subsection 4.
