Iowa Code § 479A.1: Purpose.

It is the purpose of the general assembly in enacting this law to confer upon the utilities commission the power and authority to act as an agent for the federal government in determining pipeline company compliance with the standards of the federal government for pipelines within the boundaries of the state.
