- CHAPTER 25 [27] BACKGROUND CHECKS
(1) The department is authorized to conduct background checks of applicants pursuant to this chapter. To carry out the purposes of this chapter, the department shall submit fingerprints to the Idaho state police to process background checks through the state criminal history repository and the federal bureau of investigation.
(2) The records and information obtained as part of any background check are confidential and shall not be disclosed by the department except as permitted under applicable state or federal law.
