110 ILCS 425/5: Purposes.

The purposes of this Act are to establish at the University of Illinois the Prairie Research Institute and to transfer to it all rights, powers, duties, property, and functions currently vested in the Department of Natural Resources pertaining to its Illinois Natural History Survey, Illinois State Water Survey, Illinois State Geological Survey, and Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (formerly known as the Waste Management and Research Center).
