225 ILCS 41/15-55: Preparation room.

The Department shall require that each fixed place of practice or establishment devoted to the care and preparation for burial or for transportation of deceased human bodies maintain a preparation room properly equipped with necessary drainage and ventilation facilities and containing instruments and supplies necessary for the preparation and embalming of deceased human bodies for burial or transportation. Branch operations of main funeral businesses having a preparation room and located in the State of Illinois are exempt from the requirements of this Section. The Department may adopt rules for all preparation room equipment and facility requirements with the consultation of the Board.
