No registered nurse or licensed practical nurse may perform refractions and other determinations of visual function or eye health diagnosis. A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse may participate in these activities with the direct on-site supervision of an optometrist licensed under the Illinois Optometric Practice Act of 1987 or a physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches under the Medical Practice Act of 1987.
