325 ILCS 3/50-20: DEC Federal Indirect Cost Fund.

(a) The DEC Federal Indirect Cost Fund is hereby created as a federal trust fund to be held outside the State treasury, with the State Treasurer as ex officio custodian. Moneys in the Fund shall be expended, subject to appropriation, only for administrative or operational costs as authorized by law and under the terms of any applicable federal grant, award, or assistance.

(b) The Department may apply for, accept, receive, expend, and administer on behalf of the State any indirect cost reimbursements and funds from federal grants, awards, or other assistance. Any federal indirect cost reimbursements and funds received by the Department under this Section shall be deposited into the DEC Federal Indirect Cost Fund.
