55 ILCS 5/3-4004.1: Appointment of Public Defender in counties over 1,000,000.

Whenever a vacancy shall occur in the position of Public Defender in counties over 1,000,000, a properly qualified person shall be appointed to the position by the President with the advice and consent of the Board.

Appointment of Chief County Public Defender in counties over 3,000,000. When a vacancy occurs in the position of Chief County Public Defender in a county with a population over 3,000,000, a properly qualified person shall be appointed to the position by the President with the advice and consent of the Board.
