55 ILCS 5/3-5004: Commencement of duties.

The recorder shall enter upon the duties of the office on the first day in the month of December following the recorder's election on which the office of the recorder is required, by statute or by action of the county board, to be open. The recorder shall be commissioned by the Governor.
